Enjoy life and relax with Nature
Posted on December 9, 2007
In all of our lives we have moments where we just need to get away from the hustle and bustle. Even the most driven and motivated people need a quite moment now and then. The most relaxing and enjoyable moments to me are those quite times that I can really “see” nature and the amazing wildlife around us.
As many people already know I live in a small college town of Auburn, AL. The weather here is extremely hot and humid most of the year with very mild winters. I have lived in Alabama my whole life and have become accustomed to the hot weather, but have never appreciated it until I see the week and month long snow storms hit the northern United States. Since we moved into our new home a few years ago I have really started to appreciate the small things in nature that I use to ignore. I have always loved nature, but have never paid attention to every beautiful stroke of our Masters paint brush. It never seizes to amaze me how amazing and beautiful this World really is.
With my love for nature and the outdoors my father (Kyle) and I have started a new web site, Living4Outdoors. The site is new and only has a few articles so far, but we will start posting more and more as time moves on. The site was created to express our great appreciation for outdoor living and the fun times that we have had outdoors over our lives. Living4Outdoors is a way to promote all things outdoors including becoming closer to your family and children. Our slogan is “Enjoying outdoor life one glorious moment at a time” and that is what both of us have and will continue to do. We hope you will enjoy the new site and would love feedback on any topics that you might want to see on Living4Outdoors. The site will have articles on pretty much anything outdoors including the following:
-
Camping
-
Hiking
-
Hunting
-
Fishing
-
Outdoor Sports
-
Swimming
-
Outdoor adventures and stories
-
Gardening
-
Wildlife management and conservation
-
Childhood memories
I want to take this time to show you a few pictures that were taken by myself in my own yard. These pictures are probably not perfect, but they are an example of the simple pleasures that nature provides us all if we choose to “see” it.
These beautiful azaleas line the front of our home, look at the detail on the petals.
This is a hydrangea that a customer gave my wife one Christmas.
This is one of the many pickling cucumbers that I grow in my organic garden, you can see my tomatoes in the article “How to go Organic?”.
An amazing butterfly enjoying our Lantana flowers.
The Southern Dogwood tree, one of my all time favorites, only the Creator could make such beauty!
Can you see the hummingbird? This is right at our back door so we can enjoy nature everyday.
This is one of my favorite pictures even though it is not perfect. This is a baby Blue-jay that was enjoying our sprinkler last summer. Last summer was extremely dry and for two days this little guy would come enjoy the water every time I turned the sprinkler on. His mother was nervous as I watched him play, but stayed close by in the trees.
Take time each day to really “SEE” nature and it’s beauty. Take a deep breath and relax with nature!

Ahhh yes… at lunch time today as I sat in the park near work I contemplated the soothing effects of nature. I can’t believe some people spend their lunch hour inside on a beautiful day.
Good luck with the new site!
ps that last photo brought a smile to my face
Brad:
What a great article, especially since I was talking about the calming effect of walking through nature to clear the mind and communicate with God and the angels over at my blog. We are definitely vibing on the same wavelength these days!
I LOVED your photos. Gorgeous. Especially the butterfly. Can I have permission to use it in one of my future articles? Of course, I’ll credit you. Butterflies are my favorite because they represent transformation. You really captured that butterfly beautifully! Exquisite!
Peter,
Thank you for the kind comments. I wish I had the opportunity to enjoy a lunch outside as you do. It has been so beautiful the last week here in Auburn (mid 70’s and low humidity).
Stephen,
Of course feel free to use the photo, it is one of the best ones that I have taken. I always seem to be just a bit off focus, but I snapped that one just at the right moment.
I loved your great pictures! God has blessed me with a great family that appreciates all of outdoors. When my children were little they loved to spend time outside. We took time to share picnics and look at Gods beautiful world. Keep up the great work and let others be blessed by your experiences.
I loved your pics! They are truly fantstic.
Nature is a best way to relax.
Nature is a best healer for stress and depression.
It’s a pity not all of us have an opportunity to go out and have a nice walk in the forest or by the river… Big city is a big problem.
I like to use nature videos to cope with stress:
